The Pirates of St. Augustine are pleased to announce that construction of the Pirate Ship, Black Raven, has begun.

The home port of Black Raven will be St. Augustine, Florida where she will reside year round. St. Augustine is located in St. John's County in the north east corner of Florida. It is located approximately 45 minutes south of Jacksonville along Interstate I 95. The city is the oldest continuously occupied city in America. It was founded in 1565 by the Spanish explorer Pedro Menendez de Aviles. St. Augustine has an extremely rich history and many attractions.

Black Raven is a replica of a Spanish Galleon. The ship is 72’ long, 19’ wide, weighs in at 65 tons, and has three masts. Built of steel and diesel powered, the ship will comfortably sail 130 people per cruise.

The Pirates of St. Augustine cruise offers a unique, highly visible tourist attraction excellent for entertaining families with children of all ages, school groups, and tour groups. The Black Raven, pirates of St. Augustine cruise, is also available for special charter events such as weddings, birthday parties, and corporate outings.

The Pirate cruise will have unparalleled exposure to visitors staying in the 100 room Ramada Historic Hotel. The Pirate Ship “Black Raven” is in strong relationship with the Ramada Historic Hotel, allowing it to offer discount cruise packages to individual guests, families, schools and tour groups.

The Black Raven offers 1 ½ hour scenic tours on the Intercoastal Waterway, four to five times daily, on a year-round basis. Evening cruises will feature a professional, licensed tour guide, dressed as an authentic pirate to tell stories featuring the area’s rich history and highlighting St. Augustine’s seafaring past. A different Pirate theme will be featured nightly. Special education programs for a school groups are available also.

While “Pirates” entertain the children with a variety of games and plays adults can enjoy sightseeing from the upper deck or treat themselves to refreshments (including beer and wine) in the rear lounge of the ship.
