Captain’s Party

To accommodate for the extra celebration, the trip will be extended for approximately 15 minutes.

The birthday child (hereafter named Sally) will get a very special treatment during the trip. She will be assisted by her own pirate guide (chaperon) for most of the event.

Program for the Captain’s Party

1. Introduction
Upon leaving the dock and after the safety briefing as been completed, Sally will be acknowledged and welcomed onboard. She will be introduced by one of the pirates to all the passengers. She will receive a temporary pirate hat with her name on it in order for everybody to recognize who she is.

2. Hoist the Flag
After her introduction, she will be escorted up to the forecastle where she will hoist the flag.

3. Visit the Helm
Providing the conditions allows, Sally will then be escorted up to the helm where she will meet the captain. Here, she will see how the captain is operating the ship and she will also get a chance to “steer” the ship under the captains close supervision.

While this is happening, the main program for all the other passengers has started. This is part of our regular program.

4. Face painting
Approximately 30 minutes in to the journey, we are ready for the main even to get under way. This starts with face painting (optional) in preparation for the pirate crowning. After the face painting has been completed, Sally will be escorted to the main stage where the pirate thrown has been place.

5. Crowning
Sally will now be seated on the thrown in order to be sworn in as the official “Pirate in Training” of Black Raven. She will be crowned and exchange her temporary pirate hat for the real one (for her to keep). Music will be played and the pirates will sing a song for their new pirate member.

6. Pillage of the Treasure Chest
After the music has stopped, the treasure chest will be lowered from the main mast. The treasure chest contains five birthday gifts for Sally, beads and coins for her to give out to her friends (and other children onboard).

After the plundering the chest, Sally will join her family and friends to enjoy the main program.

7. Lowering of the Flag
When the ship approaches the end of the trip, Sally will be escorted back to the forecastle and lower the flag. Upon completion of the flag ceremony, she will receive her official “Pirate in Training” certificate.

The price is broken down in two parts, the celebration package (optional), and the tickets:

1. Celebration package: $80.00 (optional)
This is for the celebration ceremony, personal attention, flag, gifts, certificate, material and the extended trip. Retail value for the gifts and pirate hat only (for her to keep): $50.00+.

Sally will keep the flag that was flown during her very special trip, we will provide a brand new flag to hoist.
